The Canadian Voice of Women for Peace’s strongest asset is our dedicated team of incredible members, Board of Directors, volunteers, and supporters! Our community supports women and peace building in Canada and around the world.


Alley McDonaldNational Coordinator

Alley is a graduate of the Masters of Peace and Conflict Studies program at the University of Waterloo. During her studies, she focused on developing strategies and interventions involving governmental and educational institutions to address issues of gender-based violence, human trafficking, harm impacting Indigenous communities and environmental racism, justice and repair. Alley’s previous position as a peace educator ignited her passion for teaching about peace, conflict and social justice. Currently, Alley is a community mediator engaging in transformative and restorative practices.  


Linda Feldy – Office and Archival Superstar

Linda is a longtime member and dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace team.

In 2019, Linda was honoured with a Volunteer Legacy Nomination at the  Volunteer Toronto‘s National Volunteer Week Celebration for her her commitment and dedication.

Linda has helped us through office moves, archival help and anything else she can. We are so lucky to have her! Thank you, Linda!


Tamara Lorincz – Senior Researcher & Campaigner

Tamara Lorincz is a long-time member of the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace. She was inspired to join VOW by Muriel Duckworth and Betty Peterson, VOW members in Nova Scotia, over twenty years ago. Tamara is also a member of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom-Canada. As well, she is on the advisory committee of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, World Beyond War and the No to War, No to NATO Network. Tamara was awarded the Rotary International World Peace Fellowship in 2013. In 2014, she served as the senior research intern for the International Peace Bureau in Geneva, Switzerland.

In addition to her activism, Tamara is currently a PhD candidate at the Balsillie School of International Affairs at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She has a Masters in International Politics & Security Studies from the University of Bradford and a Law degree and MBA specializing in environmental law and management from Dalhousie University. Her research is on the climate and environmental impacts of the military. Tamara is a peace activist, feminist, environmentalist and mother of two teenage boys.


Sarah Rohleder – VOW Peace Campaign Intern

Sarah Rohleder is a second year undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia, a youth coordinator for Reverse the Trend Canada, and a youth advisor for Senator Marilou McPhedran through the Canadian Council of Young Feminists. In June she attended the Nuclear Ban Week in Vienna, Austria including the 1MSP for the TPNW, the Humanitarian Conference, and the ICAN Nuclear Ban Forum. This past summer she was a summer intern for the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Canada and she is also a Girl Guide leader. 


Shayne Wong- Manitoba VOW Chapter Coordinator

Shayne is an M.A. student in Peace and Conflict Studies from Winnipeg. Her research focuses on gender, youth, immigration and refugee response, and the contributions of diaspora communities to peacebuilding. Her primary regions of study are Canada and Southeast Asia with a particular focus on the conflict in Myanmar and has recently joined the Rohingya Human Rights Network team. Shayne is also a Remote Researcher for the NGO Working Group on Women, Youth, Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and a Co-Founder and Steering Committee Member for the Canadian Coalition for Youth, Peace & Security.
