VOW’s Local Chapters Across Canada

NOVA SCOTIA

NSVOW (The Nova Scotia Voice of Women) is a local chapter of the Canadian VOW.

VOW (Canadian Voice of Women for Peace) works locally, nationally, and internationally on issues related to peace, social justice, human rights, and development with the mandate to promote the full inclusion of women in decision-making at all levels of society. NSVOW (Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace) is a local chapter of the Canadian VOW.

NSVOW has demonstrated against war and the preparation for war, military spending, created and run a PeacemakeHers Camp, written op-eds and letters to the editor, created a Peace Day for Hiroshima Day, joined peace marches, been involved in anti-racism and indigenous reconciliation work, attended United Nations Conferences on the Status of Women, advocated for Canada to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and has created a “Peace Knot Bombs” banner, with beautifully stitched contributions from women across Turtle Island, commemorating the Yemeni children killed by a bomb made by Lockheed Martin.
