#StandForPeace with Russia and Ukraine: Find an Action, Sign Petition and Read Statement

Sign and share the Canadian coalition statement and petition to call for peace in Ukraine not war. VOW helped to bring together activists to draft a statement and petition for Canada to de-militarize the crisis between NATO and Russia over Ukraine. The statement urges the Trudeau government to reduce tensions by ending arms sales and military training in Ukraine, opposing Ukraine’s membership in NATO and signing the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. We also explain that more weapons, soldiers and special forces is not feminist foreign policy. We don’t want war. We want peace, diplomacy and neutrality for Ukraine. We also want Canada out of NATO.

The Toronto Association for Peace & Solidarity (TAPS) and the Canadian Peace Congress are sponsoring an emergency rally against the growing danger of a US/NATO war with Russia for this coming Saturday, January 29 at 12 noon outside the US Consulate at University Ave. & Armoury Rd. in Toronto.

The rally will oppose the war preparations of Canada, the US, and other NATO countries directed at Russia over the issue of Ukraine, and call instead for a negotiated political settlement to this dispute. This of course will be connected with the demand that Canada get out of NATO now and calling for the dissolution of all military blocs. All organizations, groups and individuals agreeing with the main thrust of our demands are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate.
