Members Tamara Lorincz, Marla Slavner & Kasha Sequoia Slavner are heading to the COP 28 Climate Summit in Dubai, UAE. Tamara was selected to join the Climate Action Network-Canada (CAN-Rac) delegation as the VOW representative. Our organization is a member of CAN-Rac.
They are bringing the messages for “peace for climate justice,” “cut military spending for climate finance”, “cancel the F-35 fighter jet” and “demilitarize, decarbonize, decolonize”.

In advance of COP 28, VOW wrote an open joint letter to Minister of the Environment Steven Guilbeault and Canada’s Ambassador for Climate Change Christine Stewart. Our letter was written in partnership with the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom-Canada (WILPF-Canada). Read it below.
VOW also wrote a joint open letter to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat calling on it to do a special study on the impacts of military emissions and military expenditures. We co-wrote it with the International Peace Bureau, World BEYOND War and the WILPF-Canada. Read it below.
