The day before the summit, Tamara participated in the 3-hour meeting of WILPF members at the Women’s House. The summit began with a peace concert followed by a two-day intensive conference with representatives from around the world. The conference was organized by the International Peace Bureau, CODEPINK, WILPF Austria among other groups. Important resources were shared and the international peace movement was strengthened.
The conference’s final declaration “The Vienna Appeal for Peace” calls for an immediate ceasefire and negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. The organizers also declared September 30th-October 7th to be the international week of action for peace and to end the war.
After the summit, Tamara organized a “No to NATO” meeting. She also had a meeting with a political officer at the Canadian Embassy in Austria and attended a round table with gender advisors of the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) that was organized by WILPF.
