Join us for our second National Day of Action on October 2nd to demand that the Canadian federal government cancel the $19 billion competition for 88 new fighter jets and instead invest in a just recovery and a green new deal. This fighter jet procurement is the second most expensive procurement in Canadian history.
In the running are: Boeing’s Super Hornet, SAAB’s Gripen and Lockheed Martin’s F-35 fifth-generation stealth fighter. The federal government will select the winning bid in 2022 and the first combat aircraft is expected to be delivered by 2025. We have to stop the government from buying new fighter jets.
What you can do for our National Day of Action:
*Attend or plan a “Strike for Climate Peace: No New Fighter Jets” demonstration outside your member of Parliament’s office on Friday, October 2.
On July 24th we had 22 actions at MP Offices across the country and even more decentralized actions. See the list of planned demonstrations below and email info@vowpeace.org to add your action to the list. Be sure to wear a mask and respect physical distancing while protesting.
*Bring signs and take photos! Share your photos on social media using the hashtags #NoNewFighterJets and #ClimatePeace
*Email photos to info@vowpeace.org and we will compile the photos from across the country.
*Deliver a letter to your MP (to their office or in the mailbox)

An fascinating dialogue is value comment. I feel that it’s best to write extra on this subject, it might not be a taboo topic but usually individuals are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
