The Canadian Voice of Women for Peace has collaborated with Science for Peace to create a youth-centred project to
- Raise public awareness on the harms of nuclear weapons: from their creation, testing, use, radiation and the devastating effects of a nuclear war.
- Engage with youth in particular to build leadership skills and knowledge related to nuclear abolition advocacy.
- Increase understanding of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and the intersections of climate, poverty, gender, health, and security.
- Recruit students for internships/volunteer positions with Science for Peace or the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace.
- Train youth to become nuclear abolition peace facilitators with a curated presentation based on each youth’s particular interest/intersection within the peace field.
- Create clear paths to action for youth to begin advocating for a nuke-free future, today!
