What is Bequest Giving?
A bequest is a charitable gift made through your will or estate plan. It’s a way to ensure that your values and commitment to peace, equity, and disarmament continue for future generations. By including VOW in your will, you are leaving a lasting legacy that supports our mission to create a more just and peaceful world.
In order to make a bequest, you should speak with your attorney. Your attorney can help you include a bequest to Canadian Voice of Women for Peace. in your estate plan. We have provided some basic bequest language to assist you and your attorney.
There are several types of bequests you can consider:
- Percentage of your estate: You can designate a certain percentage of your estate to be donated to VOW.
- Specific asset or amount: You can leave a specific asset or a fixed sum of money to VOW.
- Residual bequest: After your loved ones are provided for, you can leave the remainder of your estate to VOW.
- Contingent bequest: If a beneficiary is unable to receive their inheritance, you can direct that portion to VOW.

How to Include VOW in Your Will
Including VOW in your will is a straightforward process. You simply need to specify the gift you want to leave to us in your will. If you need assistance or guidance, we are here to help.
To include VOW in your will, please use the following language as a guide:
- “I give, devise, and bequeath [specific dollar amount, percentage of estate, or asset] to the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, located at 60 Lowther Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5R 1C7, to support its mission and initiatives promoting peace and disarmament.”
