| SAVE THE DATE! VOW’s 2023 AGM will take place online nationwide and in-person in Toronto on Saturday, November 25th from 1:00 to 4:30pm ET. Plan to participate and join VOW in organizing for peace! We will welcome and hear from our valued guest speaker, Jill Carr-Harris, followed by a review of VOW’s board activities, financial report, staff reports, resolutions, nominations, and upcoming campaigns. Jill Carr-Harris teaches peace education, Gandhian Nonviolence, and is a recipient of VOW’s Ursula Franklin Award. Jill has worked on environment and land issues, poverty reduction, and gender equity for several decades. She has supported the development of women leaders for advocacy on land and gender rights and has co-organized long marches with as many as 50,000 on the road for a month at a time with the organization Ekta Parishad. This work has empowered landless, tribal and marginalized people in India. All members, supporters, and interested-to-be members welcome! We encourage you to invite a friend! AGM Participation: The VOW AGM is free and open to anyone to attend. For those who attend in-person, refreshments will be served. Donations are appreciated. Proposed resolutions must be received by the Board of Directors by Friday, November 10th, 2023, and the resolution clause(s) must clearly state what action is proposed. These resolutions will be considered depending on time. VOW board members can offer some guidance for formalizing drafts submitted by the deadline.
