For our social media savvy VOWs:

Today the International Peace Bureau (IPB)is launching a global Thunderclap campaign – namely Money for War … or Human Needs?– about the excessive amounts spent by governments on the military, while approximately 1% could meet the urgent unmet needs of the humanitarian sector. Securing additional funding for humanitarian work today is more vital than ever. Let’s Move the Money! We have purposely chosen to run this campaign 2 weeks before the official starting date of GDAMS (05 April) in order to reach as many people as possible and get our message into the worldwide debate.  If we reach our target (100 people), our message will be sent out, like a thunderclap! on the GDAMS starting date:  5th April 2016.

Thunderclap is a crowdspeaking platform which allows individuals and organizations to spread a message across the Internet via social media. It is similar to crowdfunding, but in this case, the message is only published if we reach our desired number of supporters.

How can you help?
The campaign ends on April 05, so we have just 2 weeks….We need your help if we are going to succeed. You can start by supporting it on Thunderclap by using this link
http://thndr.me/ZfM7Jf and choosing one of the three options available: support via Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.

For increased visibility, we will also be very active on social media during the coming week. If you have not done so already, we strongly urge you to follow us on both Twitter and Facebook, and help us by posting/tweeting using the hashtag #Welfarenotwarfare and liking/sharing/retweeting our posts. We will push out the IPB message every day with some interesting infographics, so feel free to take a look at them as well!
