The Peace Studies program at Goucher College invites candidates
The Peace Studies program at Goucher College invites candidates for a tenure-track position in Peace Studies, to begin August 2014. Candidates must have solid grounding in Peace Studies; areas of expertise may include peace and conflict studies, urban economic conflict, race and urban peace building, urban geography and planning, or urban environmental justice. The successful candidate will teach an Introduction to Peace Studies, a course on cities, and to develop courses at the intermediate and upper level. This program places a great emphasis on interdisciplinarity, community-based learning, active experience with students and the broader community, and engaged or critical pedagogy, and welcomes candidates with organizing as well as scholarly experience. Peace Studies at Goucher College is a highly collaborative, energetic, and growth-oriented program that places a strong emphasis on visionary, innovative thought and action. Qualified candidates must have a PhD in a relevant discipline by August 2014.
