Sandra Boisvert is the Director of Campaigns and Government Relations at Public Response, where she works exclusively with progressive nonprofits, charities, and unions. Prior to this, she interned at the Rideau Institute, before serving as Advisor and Researcher for the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, working on their Justice and Peace and Aboriginal reconciliation files. She has a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Modern Languages. She is fluent in French and speaks Spanish.
She is a member of a number of organizations, including ceasefire.ca, Equal Voice, and Just Food. She participated in VOW’s 2014 delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. She has previously served on the Lees Community Garden Steering Committee, as well as on the Board of Directors of Coopération Intégration Canada (which works with francophone immigrants from Africa).
Sandra is a feminist who is passionate about peace. She is especially interested in women in conflict and postconflict situations, conflicts between multinational corporations and small communities, food security, and Canada’s role abroad.
She lives in Ottawa with her husband and son.
