Limited space still available at our Ontario PeaceMakers Summer Camp

Dear VOWs,

LIMITED spaces still available for our Ontario camp – please take a moment to pass this on to young women between 15 and 35 who would be interested.  If you are interested in attending as a mentor, please also let us know.

Canadian Voice of Women for Peace
invite applications for our Peace Maker Summer Camps

Are you a young woman between 15 and 35 years of age? Are you interested in peace making? Are you willing to commit to working for peace over the next year? If you answered yes to these questions, we invite you to fill out the peacemakerscamp application or contact the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace office at  (416) 603-7915  or by email We are seeking applications from a wide diversity of young women. The camp is for women who are interested in careers and activism helping to change the paradigm of “security and protection” based on weapons, fear, threats to kill, and bullying to relationship and reconciliation building and nonviolent conflict resolution, who are working on reducing violence in their lives, communities, and/or the world and creating cultures of peace are invited to apply.

Participants will be asked to commit to organizing two events in their campus or in their community in the coming year. This could include a play reading of 1325:the Key to Peace, which will be part of the camp experience. Participants will be asked to take part in follow up conference calls on a monthly basis over the coming year, to summer 2013. Our goal is to support young women who wish to form a youth chapter of VOW in their community or campus. Preference will be given to applicants who anticipate staying involved. Participants may receive some additional funding support to participate in the VOW AGM and conference this fall, (in November) and/or to attend the United Nations Commission on The Status of Women in New York. We invite young women from a diversity of backgrounds to apply. What matters most is your interest and enthusiasm for raising your voice for peace!
