In Halifax, VOWs took to the streets for GDAMS – Global Day of Action on Military Spending and asked “What would you do with the $1.75 trillion being spent globally each year on the military?”
In Toronto, VOWs took to Yonge and Dundas – Dundas Square – and asked where people would invest 1.75 Trillion.

Global military spending is at an all-time high. Worldwide military spending is estimated to have been $1.53 trillion US in 2009, the latest year for which reliable figures are available. Global military spending is now higher than it was during the Cold War. Read more
