Angela Bischoff 

Angela  has been spreading greenspiration for years. She started in the Alberta oil patch as a co-founder of the EcoCity Society with her late partner and one-time Toronto mayoral candidate Tooker Gomberg. The causes then were waste, climate change, ozone depletion and pesticides. Today her main focus is the dangers of nuclear power proliferation. Find her easily at any eco protest – she’ll be carrying the yellow Nuclear Power, No Thanks sunshine banner.  Angela was voted NOW Magazine’s Activist of the year in 2014.

Lyn is a coordinator for the Conflict Resolution service at St. Stephens and the coordinator of Peaceworks.  Lyn is an experienced trainer in conflict resolution and peace-building. Lyn has co-organized many non-profit and cooperative initiatives, and is active for the causes of peace, ecology and human rights. Lyn is a Quaker, mother of two and an avid cyclist. She is a Co-Chair for Canadian Voice of Women for Peace as well as member of the board of Greenspiration, Climate Fast, The Department of Peace initiative and Nonviolent Peaceforce Canada.

Vanessa is an advocate and steward of environmental health for her community, Aamjiwnang First Nations (Anishnaabe territory). She takes every chance to talk about the environmental crisis that exists within her neighborhood and surrounding areas, using a multitude of strategies to achieve change. She is a passionate leader, an inspirational educator, and a fearless pillar for her community

Erika SimpsonErika Simpson

Dr. Erika Simpson is Associate Professor of International Relations at Western University and the author of the book NATO and the Bomb, and numerous scholarly articles. She is a regular columnist for Postmedia, Canada’s largest newspaper chain, and serves as the Vice-President of the Canadian Peace Research Association. Previously Vice-Chair of Pugwash Canada; a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Insight Grant adjudicator; and a Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health peer reviewer, she is a longtime VOW member with strong roots in Saskatchewan where she first opposed the cruise missile testing in ’84 when Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister.

Marilou is the UN Human Rights Fellow for the Geneva Office of UNFPA, having been seconded to the UN by The University of Winnipeg, where she is a professor and the director of the Institute for International Women’s Rights at Global College. Read more
