Come out and join PLAAY in Halifax for an afternoon of tie dying in celebration of international peace day September 21st. We’ll have the tie dye all you need to bring is an item(s) that you want to tie dye. We will also have experienced volunteers on hand to guide you through the process.
We are a youth chapter of Canadian Voice of Women for Peace in Nova Scotia working for peace and justice as non-masculine youth between 15- 35 years old. This includes but is not limited to those who identify as: women, femmes, two-spirited, and non-binary.
Public events held by PLAAY are open to everyone regardless of gender identity and in most cases age.
The International Day of Peace, sometimes unofficially known as World Peace Day, is a holiday observed annually on 21 September. It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access.
Let’s come together for an afternoon of creativity and celebration. Bring your friends, your family and members of our community. Everyone is welcome.
For those who want to participate we’ll end the afternoon off by forming a circle of peace and singing some peace songs.
A free will donation jar will be setup at the event as a pay what you can offering. All proceeds will go to PLAAY and assisting us to host more free public events.
Location is still TBD. Will be posted before the event.
