Dinner and a Play, Honour Killings

Dear GTA VOWs,

Sandy Greenberg, another fabulousVOW board member, will be visiting us in Toronto next week for the play Honour Killings that her daughter, Lise Cormier is performing in.  VOWs are especially invited to come on Monday night, July 9 for the performance and after we will get together with Sandy and Lise at Asian Legend  – 418 Dundas Street West, Toronto.  Telephone 416-977-3909

Honour Killings, Toronto Fringe Festival

VOW member and professional actor, Lise Cormier, will be appearing in the world premiere of the play, Honour Killings, at the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse, 79A Saint George Street, as part of the Toronto Fringe Festival.  The theatre is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible.  Lise plays a 16-year old daughter in an immigrant family where the parents and older brother strive to control the behaviour of three daughters, who are struggling to lead their own lives and make their own decisions.  Feminist issues of the young women’s self-determination and the first wife’s right to autonomy arise in the power struggle that ensues, with tragic consequences.  For tickets and more information, go to http://fringetoronto.com/, or call   (416) 966-1062  , or email general@fringetoronto.com.

If you can join us……please call me – Sandra at 416-716-4010 or email me at vow.peace@yahoo.ca (with Honour Killings in the subject line).  WE will make reservations for you for dinner and the play.

Looking forward to a great VOW evening,

Sandra
