For immediate release March 8, 2017   Canadian Voice of Women for Peace wishes everyone a very Happy International Women’s Day.   This year the theme for International Women’s Day is “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”. Click here for more information.  Women and other people in more than 40 countries, who have been impacted by decades of war and militarism, will take action today. We will rise because we want to live in a world without weapons and war, without violence and hate, without bans and walls. PRESS RELEASE   For Immediate Release – Friday, October 28, 2016     Halifax to host national women’s peace conference November 4-6 Canadian Voice of Women for Peace having its annual conference at Saint Mary’s University     (Halifax) – The Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW) is holding its annual Conference in Halifax, with delegates coming from as far away as Victoria, British Columbia.  The theme is “Women Taking Action for Peace:  Personal, Political, Global.”  Hosted by Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace and co-sponsored by Saint Mary’s University, it will take place November 4-6.  All events are open to the public.     On Friday, November 4, the Conference will begin with a free public panel and discussion on military sexualized violence with Dr. Shelly Whitman, Dr. Maya Eichler and Tamara Lorincz from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Room 101 of the Atrium Building at Saint Mary’s University.
