Betty Peterson’s Buttons at “Peace, the Exhibition”

Betty Peterson

VOW board member Sandy Greenberg has just shared the exciting news…

VOW member “Betty Peterson‘s shirt, covered with peace buttons, that she wore in a peace march with a million other people in New York, calling for an end to nuclear arms, is being prominently displayed until October 20 at “Peace, the Exhibition” at the Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax.

Betty Peterson is just about to celebrate her 97th birthday, and she is a long-time VOW member. This addition to the peace exhibition was brought about through the efforts of curator Dan Conlin, on the suggestion of NSVOW. The shirt is on loan from Mount St. Vincent University, to which Betty has donated it. ”

Halifax’s “The Coast” magazine has also written a peace about Betty Peterson’s buttons in the October 2-8, 2014 issue. It is located on Page 7 titled “The City Q+A”.

Thank you Sandy for this wonderful update!
